Your next 30, 40 Years

There's a new world happening around us, and Humankind are looking at the next Big Leap.

Thanks to what we've discovered (yes, Science), we can be Stronger, Healthier, more Energized, have more Real Fun, and Live Far Longer than the previous Generations.

But it's not going to happen
'auto-magically'.

We need to make a deliberate choice to grab at and Take Control of that Future. How?

Doing what the past generations have done, will get us the same results as they got.

The thing is: we need to make haste... Especially at this time of our lives, it's better to start earlier than later.

The Default Result you can expect
if you do what everybody else is doing.

"How can I tell I'm one of the ones 'Ageing by Default'?"
We can tell by:
  • The Disease stage: 'Heart Problems'; verging on Type II Diabetes; Muscle Loss (Sarcopenia); Bone Loss(Osteo)...(yes, there are more!)
  • The Disability stage: When we cannot get up and down off the floor easily; When we get slower; when we can't hop up a step or two .
  • (And that's just the start of the Physical 'Signs':)
  • The Dependence stage: Resulting from the Disease & Disability*, we now need other people (yes, carers) to do things for us: Welcome in your Loss of Independence.
  • The Depression creep-in: The combination of the preceeding 3 Ds brings on full-blown Depression. Say 'good-bye' to a Fun Life.
This is a bad, sad trajectory, (and yes, still the Default path for maybe 95% of oldies): I call this path the '5 Ds of Default Ageing'.

The result? You become Nursing-Home fodder*, if Early Death doesn't take you first.

And that's just Obstacle No 1: Our cultural norms don't help older people be their best selves.

Obstacle No 2 is also cultural: Older people (for various reasons*) are shown a back-seat, asked to sit on the sidelines and watch (the game of life or TV). That's when they get even more Disregarded and Dismissed.
However, the worst fallout of this treatment is that we then dismiss and disregard ourselves. The result? We do nothing for ourselves, and we go downhill, faster.

Obstacle No 3 is yourself (yes, You!): Without real help (maybe from the tools here), you will, sooner than later, move back to the Default Road. Look: We are distracted. We lose focus (see point No 5). Your best bet, therefore, is to reach out for help to become an empowered older person.

Obstacle No 4 is yourself & Inertia (a powerful force that helps us get... Nothing): Yeah, sure, even when we know what we should be doing we don't move in the right direction. Find the tools to help with your inertia here. (No, it's not about Motivation...)

Obstacle No 5 is Distraction (Mobiles, Streaming Movies, Social Media, etc): Hey, I'm not a techno-phobe1. But the 1001 distractions of today ensure we lose our focus on the Main Game, and we're down another rabbit-hole.
(Hence my previous bet that if you click away from this page without taking action, you're going to be another 'Default Roadster' (to your long-term loss).)
